Betty's Statement of Faith

I BELIEVE that the Holy Bible is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. I believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The scriptures are inerrant writings and are crucial for authentic Christian beliefs and living.

I BELIEVE that there is only one God. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe; I believe that God is eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I BELIEVE in the deity of Jesus Christ, our Lord. I believe in His virgin birth. I believe in His sinless life. I believe in His miracles. I believe in His vicarious and atoning death on the cross. I believe in His resurrection, I believe in His ascension to the right hand of the God the Father. I believe His personal return to earth to reign in glory as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

I BELIEVE that man was created in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. I believe that man sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.

I BELIEVE that salvation is a gift from God to man, and that only by believing, accepting and trusting in Jesus Christ is the only way to God and eternity with Him in heaven.

I BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God, Who lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation, and provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in living a godly life.

I BELIEVE we were created to exist forever, and that we will exist eternally separated from God by sin in Hell, or in union with God in Heaven through forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ.
